Time for everyone to be honest with themselves. We've already had 2 owners drop out and now looks like a 3rd and we're in the 2nd round of a 27 round draft. If some of this league isn't going to be committed to seeing this thing through, then we need to hear it now. Can't have people dropping out in the 24th round or a week away from opening day.

I think that people need to be a little more patient. Its only feb. 9th...i mean the season doesnt even start for almost 2 months. It's almost a guarantee some people are going to be pissed by the time opening day comes because their 1st or 2nd round pick is out for the year or something due to injury. I'm sure the draft will move much faster once the time limit is instilled but until then what's the hurry?! I want to know my team too but if everyone is that hard up to get the draft done and see their team just do an auto draft.
Just my 2 cents...

The hurry is to find people actually wanting to do this. It's al everyday thing and people should be excited and pissed because finding dedicated owners is difficult.

I'm all in!!! But, I do have worries about a 20 team league. I made this point earlier, that in a standard 12 team league there is usually 2 or 3 owners that lose interest (especially in a free league). So, finding 20 fully committed owners may be tough here.

I think I have an owner in place. We lose'em and we find a replacement. It will be a good competitive league. Weed out the weak.

I agree. You have to expect some rough patches at first, but once we get rolling this is gonna be fun!

I'm all in....i agree, it is just Feb. 9th but I'm a retired high school baseball coach that is just bored....hate basketball, don't understand hockey....LOVE BASEBALL!!!! if I were still coaching we would be having pitchers & catchers throwing in the gym 3 days a week getting ready for the season.... I do think it will be hard to keep managers until we get 20 baseball crazy managers....we just have to work through the "bugs"...it will be worth it. Actualy, this league starts Sunday so everything to this point is just a bonus.....it's sorta' like Christmas...we all like to open a package early if we can....that's what the draft is to me.....and I'm 55 years old.....just a kid at heart that loves the greatest game ever created!!!!! Coach Mac

Yahoo and MLB.com have leagues for passive owners. If you want to be in a 20 team keeper league it takes dedication and work. 20 teams is not like a 10 or 12 team league where everyone gets "Star" players thru the first 8 rounds. Buy the end of the 3rd round anyone who could be clasiffied as a star will be off the board. 24 more rounds will require study and research and if you can't check in once or twice a day when the "Stars" are still on the board how will you behave when the unknown players are left or how you act when you finsh last (someone has to), if you can't even get excited about the first 3 rounds of the draft what will you do when you are in last place and it looks like you will be there for a couple years? You gonna try and find a manager THEN, for a crappy team? NOW is the time to weed em out. I understand why some are upset at what was to be a hyper-active league and we are still in round 2.

I'm only 16 and don't have a job yet, and combining that with my intense love of baseball, I'm going to be super dedicated. I'm all in for at least 3 seasons until I go to university, and probably during that as well. I'm super stoked for this league to start and can't wait to make my next pick.

Don't get me wrong I think this league is going to be very strong. And I'm not worried one bit about the pace of the draft. Could it be faster? Sure. I just hate to see people drop out so early. But better now than in 2 mos and become a dead owner. I know it's hard to get into the baseball mood before spring training for some. Hell some sports sites are still putting together their player rankings list. But it'll be here before you know it and next year we'll just have to worry about a 5 round draft. Won't that be nice?
